ARCS on Radio Sofia
Eric De Sena, ARCS Director, was interviewed live on Radio Sofia on Sept. 27. During the 50-minute interview De Sena discussed the reasons why the first overseas American research Centers (in Rome, Athens and Egypt) focused on classical antiquity as well as his interests in the ancient Roman economy. Some of the discussion focused on archaeology and history as a mechanism to "build nations". De Sena also revealed plans for an upcoming conference "Communication and Commerce in the Balkans between Alexander the Great and Alexander Battenberg". A component of the conference is the opening of a new temporary exhibition on Roman trade hosted by the National Archaeology Museum in Sofia.
