The American Research Center in Sofia is pleased to announce three new initiatives:

1. The establishment of an archaeological field school at the site of Heraclea Sintica in southwest Bulgaria;

2. Participation of the ARCS library in the NALIS project that is developing an online union catalogue of Bulgarian research libraries and shared access to a wide range of innovative library technologies; and

3. The establishment of a new fellowship program that will allow Bulgarian scholars to travel to conferences of international importance to present their research.

Each of these initiatives is being implemented with the support of the America for Bulgaria Foundation.
