Library

The ARCS library is located on the second and third levels of the ARCS building at 75 Vasil Petleshkov St., 1510 Sofia, Bulgaria. It is open to the public Monday through Friday, from 9:00am until 5:30pm. ARCS fellows and members have unrestricted access to the collection.
The library’s holdings now number over 13,000 volumes. The core subject areas of the collection are the archaeology and ancient history of the Balkan peninsula, with secondary, and quickly developing, specializations in the medieval, byzantine, ottoman, and modern history and culture of southeastern Europe. The collection includes an increasing number of materials that are unique or hard to find elsewhere in the country. Free wireless internet is available throughout the library, as is access to important electronic scholarly databases like JSTOR. The library is non-circulating.
